Biennial’s İstanbul Modern leg extended until Nov. 26
The 14th İstanbul Biennial's vast exhibition at the İstanbul Modern has been extended until Nov. 26 due to popular demand, its organizers announced on Tuesday as the international contemporary art show entered its last two weeks before it wraps up on Nov. 1. The İstanbul Modern is one of over 30 venues across the city's European and Asian sides hosting the exhibitions of the 2015 biennial, held under the main theme “Saltwater: A Theory of Thought Forms,” with Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev as its curator.

On display since Sept. 5, the 14th biennial has attracted around 400,000 visitors to 36 venues in its first six weeks, the İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Art (İKSV) announced in Tuesday's press release. More than 1,500 pieces of artwork created by over 80 artists are displayed at the biennial, which is also utilizing fishing boats, hotels, school buildings, parking lots, stores and even homes as exhibit spaces in this edition.
