Actually I am not from Istanbul. I was born in Izmir. I moved here after my graduation from University. My first unforgettable memory was the initial tour around the Bosphorus… I was stunned by the beauty of it and captivated by this gorgeous city. 2. Share your best suggestions on where to go to a dinner especially for the Turkish tastes? I really think Matbah Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Istanbul that features Turkish - Ottoman traditional cooking very succesfully. I truly believe Matbah will be anyones favorite very quickly. I also enjoy HD for it’s iskender kebab. One of my favorites... zeynep13. What's your favorite way to spend a rainy day in Istanbul? Rainy days inspire me… Perfect time to read a book, catch up with writing, esp I have many unique ideas... Being alone and quiet at home gives me a good opportunity to focus on my thoughts and be productive as well as imaginative. 4. What about the day you can’t forget in Istanbul? I can not recall only one day as a favorite in Istanbul, I can do many! So I do not think I can pick only one out of many amazing memories living here… It is a magical city embedded with unforgettable moments. 5. Tell us about your secret places or just one hidden gem in Istanbul? I usually end up in Buyukada when I really want to be alone… Even though it is a bit distance to central Istanbul, I just can not get over the tranquility, fresh scent of the sea and a great dinner there pulls me back together. 6. What about the music? What can you tell about the places you go to listen quality music as your choices? I usually prefer dinner outings, followed by conversations with friends rather then night life how ever Istanbul being the cosmopolitan that it is, I indeed have favorite places to enjoy quality music. One major crush is Ulus29. I love the scenery of the amazing Bosphorus and I really enjoy the music there. Also Les Ottomans The Bar is another venue I enjoy. Don’t forget Fasil! Galata Meyhanesi in Beyoglu is best for that. zeynep27: We do know you’re very much interested on tv business and you’ve a very stylish outlook. Where can you suggest foreigners about the hidden gems of shopping in Istanbul? Any budget friendly spots for the worldwide brands or local designers? I am. As a part of that being current in fashion is a passion. I enjoy the stores around Nisantasi. But I also recommend Galata area. There are many large or small scale boutique stores that feature well known fashion designers as well as new up and comers that make their mark in fashion. 8. How would you spend an ideal Sunday in Istanbul? Just to stay at home or you like to step outside? I love walking. Nothing better then a nice quiet walk by the Bosphorus around Bebek, Rumelihisari. A cup of coffee at Baylan Cafe, dinner at Chilai. Chilai especially if you like to enjoy your quality food while watching a stunning scenery and listening good music… Who doesn’t? :) 9. What’s the most funny experience you had in public? I do not think I can disclose that since I do have a very good group of friends who really like to get silly from time to time and it becomes embarrassing :)) What can I say, Istanbul can be fun! 10. Is there any chance to avoid the noise of this city without going out of it? Any silence places to hide? This is Istanbul. The most wonderful, historic and the only city in the world that unites two continents… I am not sure if the noise becomes a huge issue since this city is so mesmerizing, but if you are really into quitter living I would suggest Anatolian side. Especially Polonezkoy area. 11. After all, what can you tell about this city to a complete stranger? Istanbul is magical… You either be the magician or the one who gets to enjoy the magic trick… Regardless it is a unique experience… Just enjoy it.
